A 35-year-old Mumbai businessman jumped to his death from the Atal Setu bridge in Bandra, marking the second such incident in just three days. The deceased, identified as Rohan Sharma, was a resident of Andheri.
Eyewitnesses reported that Sharma parked his car on the bridge and jumped off around 8 pm on Tuesday. His body was recovered from the sea by the Mumbai Police and Coast Guard.
This tragic incident comes just 48 hours after a 25-year-old woman jumped to her death from the same bridge. The authorities have expressed concern over the increasing number of suicide cases in the city.
The police are investigating the circumstances leading to Sharma’s death, including possible reasons for his extreme step. His family has been informed, and further inquiries are underway.
The Atal Setu bridge has become a hotspot for such incidents, raising concerns about the need for increased surveillance and mental health support. The authorities are urging citizens to seek help and report suspicious behavior to prevent such tragedies.
