A devastating incident has shaken the community in Telangana’s Medak district, where three members of a family took their own lives due to a massive debt incurred through online gambling.
The deceased were identified as 45-year-old Srinivas, his wife, Lakshmi (40), and their 19-year-old son, Varun. According to police reports, Varun became addicted to online gambling and accumulated a staggering debt of Rs 30 lakh.
The family’s financial struggles began when Varun started betting on online platforms, losing large sums of money. Despite his parents’ efforts to repay the debt, the burden became unbearable. The situation escalated, leading to the tragic decision.
Srinivas and Lakshmi left behind a heartbreaking note, stating their inability to cope with the debt and their son’s struggles. The police have launched an investigation into the incident, highlighting concerns about the dangers of online gambling.
